    Class Styles and Other Offerings

    Vinyasa Yoga

    Vinyasa is a flowing, dynamic yoga practice that cultivates presence by connecting movement with breath. Classes include sun salutations, standing poses, preparation for arm balances, dynamic stretching, and pranayama (breath work). Vinyasa builds strength and aids balance, while reducing stress and increasing vitality. 

    Slow Flow Yoga

    Slow Flow offers a chance to slow down and reconnect with oneself through intentional breath and mindful movement. Students have more time to integrate to their mats during Slow Flow, flow breath to movement at a pace that works for them and hold asanas for a number of breaths. This specific class is terrific for beginners. 

    Breathwork

    Breathwork is a highly attuned meditative gateway into expanded states of consciousness and deep connection with self. Breathwork is an active breathing method accompanied by special music, essential oils, sound healing, and energy healing techniques that can help you: process and release strong emotions like anger, grief, guilt, and fear; reprogram limiting beliefs; improve energy levels; relieve stress, anxiety, and depression; connect with the inner wisdom of your higher self; and deepen your spiritual connection. This breathing style utilizes very ACTIVE pranayama rhythmic 2-part breath as a catalyst to excavate blocked energy and unprocessed emotions from the body's nervous system, bypassing the analytical brain to efficiently restore a healthy state of balance, creativity, joy, hope, inspiration and abundance! An all-encompassing recharge of body, mind and spirit, this practice is a profoundly effective method for letting go of all that hinders your journey. This modality helps everyone--including those with PTSD, addiction, anxiety, and other barriers to being emotionally, psychologically, and physically well.  

    Reiki Energy Healing

    Reiki is a healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient's body and restore physical and emotional well-being.  The word “Reiki” means “mysterious atmosphere, miraculous sign.” It comes from the Japanese words “rei,” meaning universal, and “ki,” meaning life energy. Reiki is a type of energy healing. According to practitioners, energy can stagnate in the body where there has been physical injury or even emotional pain. In time, these energy blocks can cause illness. Energy medicine aims to help the flow of energy and remove blocks in a similar way to acupuncture or acupressure. Reiki practitioners believe that improving the flow of energy around the body can enable relaxation, relieve pain, speed healing, and reduce other symptoms of illness.

    About Us

    Meet Melissa (she/they), Owner

    Yoga, mindfulness and meditation have changed my life. It helped to heal my childhood and adult traumas. Through these practices I have learned to love myself. My goal is to help others find that space to heal also.


     I found yoga while dealing with some health issues and surgery in 2017. Yoga and meditation was the one thing I found to calm the increased anxiety I was feeling in my body. In 2019 I decided to take my yoga teacher training to expand my knowledge, never with the intention to teach. Then I fell in love the more I learned. At the beginning of 2020 I left my career after 18 years. Covid-19 made a little detour in my path but at the end of summer 2021, I quit my full time job to start my yoga and healing business.   


    I am married to my best friend and partner. He has been my biggest fan. Along with some amazing friends. I raised 2 boys both grown up and moved on and I have a beautiful granddaughter. We are also blessed with 2 fur babies. I identify as LGBTQ. And want all to feel comfortable and have a safe container to learn in. I worked 18 years as an account manager for a large beverage company and decided the fast paced environment was no longer for me. That was in 2020 as Covid-19 was hitting. I took a year and a half long detour before deciding to move forward with my dreams in the summer of 2021.  


    I am a certified RYT200 yoga instructor with trauma informed training registered with Yoga Alliance. I attended Mindful School of Yoga in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 2019. I proceeded 3 years later in the summer of 2021 with Shamama Breathwork facilitator training, Reiki RMT, Mindfulness coaching, Prenatal yoga and CPR/AED certification through The American Health and Safety Institute.  I am always a student, on the path for knowledge to help raise the universal consciousness.

    Mission

    Moon Guidance Yoga Movement and Healing Collective was created for individuals of all levels, body types, genders, sexuality and races to have a safe space to feel comfortable to do yoga for the first time or the hundred and first time. We focus on being a safe container for all to heal and feel safe and supported in the process.
